In the month of October all Ipsy GlamBag subscribers received a full sized nail polish from Zoya’s Cashmeres & Satins Fall 2013 Collection. Although Giovanna is not a color I would have picked for myself, I decided to try it on instead of trading; who knows, I may have been missing out big time.
Here’s the color description from Zoya website:
“Zoya Nail Polish in Giovanna can be best described as a stunning emerald green metallic. The “IT COLOR” right now (Originally designed for Zang Toi/AW13).”
I must admit, in the swatches this shade looks amazing, but I’m just not convinced that I can pull it off in real life. I’m currently craving deep plums and burgundy, and they just go so well with my Fall/Winter wardrobe. Unfortunately, I have absolutely no room for greens [except for mint pastels], and the only use I can think of right now is nail art. I guess it’s time to go shopping and get that emerald-colored blouse I’ve been eyeing 🙂
Giovanna has a very good highly pigmented formula: it’s practically a one-coater that goes on very smoothly and evenly, and dries with a glossy metallic finish. It contains silver shimmer particles, which look particularly good on complexions with cool undertones. Known dupes are Sinful Colors Gorgeous and China Glaze Outta Bounds.
All Zoya polishes are free from formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, camphor, toluene and DBP.
$8 USD, 15ml. Available at Zoya.
INGREDIENTS
Butyl Acetate, Ethyl Acetate, Nitrocellulose, Acetyl Trubutyl Citrate, Isopropyl Alcohol, Sterikonium Hectroite, Acrylates Copolymer, Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer
I got that polish too and I love it! The only problem is that it badly stains my nails, even with a base coat :/ haven’t had that problem with any other of my Zoyas.
I know what you mean, I found it very staining as well 🙁
