LUSH Snowcake Soap – dessert, anyone? |
Why do people love LUSH so much? What’s so good about it? I guess it’s one of those things everyone has to try for themselves, because you will either instantly fall in love with their products or vow to stay as far away from them as possible. I purchased quite a few things from them recently so I figured I might as well share with you what I got, and maybe you can share your LUSH hauls with me, too.

LUSH Snowcake Soap |
My all-time favorite LUSH product is Snowcake Soap, which is only released as part of Limited Edition Christmas Collection every year. After the Holiday season is over, LUSH hosts their annual sale event called Boxing Day Sale, which is also the only way to get their products at a discount. Depending on where you shop [Lush USA or Lush UK] the sale will either be a BOGO, or flat 50% off. Considering that LUSH USA and LUSH UK sites might have different products in stock, I usually end up purchasing from both.
Snowcake is one of the creamiest soaps from the lineup, and in my opinion, the best smelling. If you love sweet almond or sweet vanilla frosting scents, imagine those two mixed together and you’ll get Snowcake. The lather is luxuriously moisturizing, and feels like lotion when you spread it on the skin, however it washes off completely and provides that squeaky clean feeling. The best part is that it doesn’t make your skin super dry, like it often happens with most other soaps.
LUSH Snowcake Soap – gold dust |
My main problem with this soap is the gold dust on top. I find it cute, but unnecessary and impractical, because it washes off the very first time it contacts the water. Another con is the lasting time: because Snowcake is so creamy, it vanishes faster than other soaps. A typical 100g piece lasts me about 3 weeks of daily use in the shower for full body washing, and that’s 1-2 weeks less than most bar soaps. Some fellow lushies recommend splitting the bar into several small pieces and using them separately, but it didn’t really seem to work for me.
This year I bought six pieces of Snowcake, and that should last me through the remainder of the cold season, and all the way until the end of Spring, or at least I hope it does 🙂 I purchased several other soaps along with this one in an attempt to use Snowcake less, which might make my stash last a bit longer.
PRICE & AVAILABILITY
$7.95 USD for 3.5 oz. Available exclusively at LUSH during the Winter Holiday season.
Have you tried anything from LUSH? What’s your favorite LUSH product?

I’m in the “meh” camp with Lush. Mostly because I get annoyed in the store that they won’t leave me alone to browse in peace, no matter what I say or how annoyed I get. I’m grouchy!! 😀
Eek! I hate when that happens, no matter what the store. I get it, it’s their job to ask if you need any help, but once you say that you don’t, they should just leave you alone and go help someone else instead. So I don’t blame you, I wouldn’t want to go back either if I had that experience 🙂
I love love Snowcake. Completely agree with you! I also felt like it was vanishing faster than usual bar soaps, but like you said, the price of how creamy and moisturizing it is!

You know, Zoe, considering how many of us are obsessed with Snowcake, you’d think it would make sense for LUSH to make it part of their permanent collection. I bet it would generate great revenue, because people love it so much, they don’t wait for a sale to buy it.
It’s so true. And ROSE JAM. I bought so much Rose Jam this year as well. And the celebrate body lotion, and the shoot for the stars bath bomb. Yes please 🙂
Rose Jam is amazing! I was so sad that Shoot for the Stars was OOS when I got it during the boxing day sale 🙁 I mean on the site is actually showed in stock, but when I got my order there was a note with apologies, and a few substitute products, and the sale was already over, too. Not that I’m complaining, since I got a few extra goodies for inconvenience, but I really would have wanted some bath bombs :<
Snowcake is one of my favorite soap from Lush. I just wish it would become permanent so I don’t have to stock up on those during the holiday season. My favorite product from Lush has to be the Comforter(bubble bar). It smell delicious and produce tons of bubbles.
New follower:) Shopping Obsession
Took the words right out of my mouth! I also wish it would become permanent, considering how many people adore that soap. I really like Comforter too, if I’m not mistaken I think it actually might have been my first LUSH product. Ohhh, the memories 🙂
I keep meaning to try LUSH. I’m glad you mentioned that they have a sale once a year! I’m sorry I missed it, but now I know to look for it next year!
Indeed! This is their one and only sale, and the only products on sale are from their Christmas collection, which is actually quite extensive. Trust me, there’s something for everyone 🙂
Those look awesome!
I can’t give these soaps enough praises 🙂
In my home 3 weeks is a long time for a soap to last lol I always miss out on snow cake though.
Oh noo, Snowcake is one LUSH product I’d hate to miss out on :O And wow, there I thought 3 weeks is too fast!
I love the smell of Snow Cake!!! It’s so nice.
I seriously wait all year for nit to come out 🙂
I’ve been a LUSH fan for several years. I have a section of my freezer dedicated to items. I actually prefer their shower gels to bar soaps though 🙂 And Snow Cake perfume is my absolute favorite!
I didn’t even think of dedicating a section to LUSH products, you are a genius! Mind if I steal that idea? 😉
I’ve loved almost everything I’ve tried from Lush but haven’t tried Snow Cake. I had some soap there from Christmas and didn’t even use it because the smell was so strong it blew me away lol.
Me too, I think there was maybe one or two products that I didn’t care for, mostly for the scents really, but everything they make is wonderful 🙂
I got a slice of Snowcake as a christmas gift this year and fell in love with it!! It’s almost down to a small sliver.
What a thoughtful gift! Whoever gave it to you really likes you 🙂
It sounds like it smells so yummy.
It smells like heaven, rainbows and puppies… Mmm yes… Just like that!
That shot is truly fantastic!
Haha, thank you Laura! Doesn’t it look like yummy dessert? I swear, every time I see it sitting on my bathroom shelf, I just want to eat it 😀
This sounds sooooo good <3 and looks good too!
Smells as yummy as it looks 😉
My blog partner would love this! I am not a Lushie but they make fabulous products.
Agreed, their products always make me feel so happy!
Ummm….why do I want to eat this? Thos looks fab girl!
You know, sometimes I really wish I could just chip a little piece and eat it, that’s how amazing it smells and looks 🙂
i love the mint sugar lip scrub. it’s my favorite.
Ooh, Mint Julips is wonderful!
I hope to visit lush this month ! I can’t wait to see what their products are like
Nice! I look forward to reading about your LUSH haul, if you do decide to purchase anything there 🙂
I need to try more LUSH products – I’ve only tried mask of magnaminty so far, and I loved it.
That’s one of LUSH products I actually haven’t tried yet, good to know that you loved it!
This looks so delish, I wanna eat it!!!!
Haha, indeed! When I was lining up the pieces for a shot I realized that they look like marshmallows 🙂
I’ve never gone into a Lush store. The smell outside it is overwhelming…which makes me think I wouldn’t be able to tell what I liked. But one day….one day…..
Ohh, yes, a LUSH store can definitely be an overwhelming experience, especially for people with really sensitive noses. Lush carries several products that are very lightly scented, so maybe you can still give it a try.
Your photos make it look completely scrumptious!
Haha, thank you! I really wanted to eat these soaps during the photoshoot lol 😀
