Looking out of my window it doesn’t even look like March [thanks, weather, thanks Winter storm Vulcan! bleh…], so I had to double check with my calendar when I was writing the title of this post. Okay, so I guess it’s March after all, and the theme for this month’s Birchbox is “Spring Forward”.
HOW IT WORKS
Birchbox is a subscription service that delivers a box of luxury beauty samples to your doorstep every month. Subscribers receive 4-6 samples and sometimes even full-sized products. At $10/month Birchbox is one of the cheapest monthly beauty subscriptions out there, the value of each box usually ranges from at least $15 and can be as high as $60. They also have a nice rewards program, where for each completed product survey you get 10 points, every 100 points earns you $10 in Birchbox credits – a currency to use in their online store for full-sized products and even gift subscriptions.

Supergoop City Sunscreen Serum SPF 30+ – I take sun protection very seriously and embrace my pasty complexion, so I’m always happy to receive a good sunscreen sample to try. I already own the full-sized pump of this fantastic serum, which I really love, so I hoard all the samples I can get, because this product is quite pricey. When I first saw my updated dashboard with all the products I will be getting in my box, I thought Birchbox will just send a few foils, and to my pleasant surprise I received this very generous travel-sized tube.
INIKA Certified Organic Eye Liner – Very generous full-sized pencil, with a sharpener cap conveniently attached to another end. I received Green Lagoon shade, which is a gorgeous aqua green with strong frosted finish, but I probably won’t use it very much. I’m thinking it will make a nice present for my sister, who loves wearing color eyeliners.
Grand Central Beauty S.M.A.R.T. Skin Perfecting® Serum + Primer – I’m not familiar with this brand, and looks like this product is exclusive to Birchbox [or at least it has an “Exclusive” sticker on it]. This serum is a little runny and absorbs into the skin almost immediately after the application. The consistency reminds me of essences, which are staple products in Korean skincare, it’s something you’d use after the toner and under your actual serum. It really did even out the surface of my skin quite well, creating a nice and even base for makeup.
Keims Cleanshine Energizing Shampoo – Another Birchbox exclusive, this shampoo is infused with peppermint and macadamia oils to provide invigorating experience and help you wake up in the morning. I’m probably not going to use this anytime soon because I’m still enjoying my new favorite haircare products.
Jergens BB Body Perfecting Skin Cream – I heard a lot about this new body perfecting lotion from Jergens. I don’t tan or use fake-tanners, so I was going to just give this one away. So glad I didn’t! It’s not really a fake tanner, but more of a tinted moisturizer for your body, it gave my skin healthier appearance, and made the pores on my legs, enlarged from constant shaving, way less noticeable. I normally wouldn’t vouch for a product like this, but this one is outstanding, and I highly recommend you give it a try.
THE VERDICT
I was quite impressed with my March Birchbox, because I got to try a new brand, and also to step outside my comfort zone, which resulted in an unexpected discovery of an amazing affordable product. I also received a giftable item, which is always nice, because I now have to spend less money on presents. And of course, I’m always happy to have more of my current favorites, so the generous Supergoop sample was indeed a very pleasant surprise.

Looks like a good one. I have wanted to try the BB Body since Aprill mentioned it a while ago!
It’s surprisingly good, I couldn’t believe I liked it because I’m as anti-tan as it gets (even fake tan/bronzer).
You got a much better box than I did! I got the Supergoop as well, but then I got another regular lotion, some tea, a hair oil sample and a Stila lip glaze.
You know, your box sounds really nice, too. I’m a big tea lover and would have probably enjoyed sampling a new brand [unless it’s a brand I already know].
I really really REALLY hope I get that eye pencil!
I can definitely see it on you already, it will work so well with that Burberry palette you recently reviewed on your blog!
Yayyy mine is supposed to arrive today. Iy looks like a good one. Can’t wait!!
Awesome! Can’t wait to hear what you got.
OOO! I havent had a BB in forever! This one looks like a good one!
After my February Birchbox with paper samples and a magazine insert eyeshadow patches, any box seems like a huge step up haha 🙂 But really, as you said, this was a good one.
This box looks awesome!
Glad you liked it, too, Noelle 🙂
Looks like a good box. I unsubscribed to them several months ago and this is the first box I’ve seen in awhile I wouldn’t have minded
Good to know you liked this one. I had my fair share of crappy boxes, too, but the point system keeps me subscribed.
I love Supergoop! So happy to see them in a box.
Ditto! Their products are fabulous, and that serum is my daily staple 🙂
Not so shabby this month BB!
Indeed!
You got some pretty good stuff this month in your Birchbox. 🙂
Thank you Honey, glad you liked the box 🙂
I’m really intrigued by the Jergens BB! Sounds amazing.
It really is, I did not expect that kind of performance from Jergens, because I’m not a big fan of their products normally.
What a great box! I may have to resubscribe!
It sure was a fun one!
The eyeliner is pretty!
It really is, but i’m going to gift it to my sister who will get a lot more use out of it 🙂
It’s a good box this time! I’ll be trying that Jergens BB cream soon.
Looking forward to reading your review, I hope you like it as much as I did.
It looks like you got a lot of good stuff in one box.
I sure did 🙂
You always seem to get their best stuff
Not this time Beyzt, they sampled adorable apple blushed by theBalm, and I wasn’t lucky enough to score one. Those samples are just too cute!
This looked like a nice box!
I thought it was pretty good, too, especially after being disappointed in February.
There’s some great stuff!! Would love to try Supergoop at some point.
I hope you get an opportunity to try it some day, I personally consider them my go-to brand when it comes to sun protection.
