It’s been a while since my last Skin&Co ROMA skincare review, but as you know, it takes a while for the skin to start showing any changes, which is why they usually take forever to complete. I tested Face Velvet Tuber Lotion for slightly over a month, which is just enough to know for sure if the product works for me. The company claims that this lotion “helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while giving the appearance of a firmer, renewed skin”; read on to find out if that’s really the case.

I am turning 30 this year, and while my skin is generally in good condition [thanks to using skincare and products with high SPF religiously since I was 15], it already started showing first signs of aging: I’m noticing permanent small shallow creases around my mouth, on my forehead and on bottom lids. My friends and family sometimes laugh and joke around when I mention that, but let’s be real – you don’t just go to bed young and wake up with a face full of wrinkles the next day, it’s a gradual process, and the sooner you notice its start and start the treatment, the longer you can delay the inevitable. Some skincare products physically reduce the depth of the lines, while others smooth them out to help improve their appearance.
The first thing I should probably mention about Face Velvet Tuber Lotion is the packaging – the tube is equipped with a convenient pump that dispenses a sufficient amount of product to cover my face and neck. Pumps are are the best type of packaging for any skin care product, because they prevent cross-contamination from finger-dipping and preserve active ingredients for longer, since the product is not constantly exposed to oxygen.
When I hear the word “lotion” I’m thinking about something with slightly runny milky consistency, however that is not the case here. Face Velvet Tuber Lotion is more like a thick ivory-colored moisturizer with creamy texture, containing small yellowish vitamin granules that nourish the skin. At first I found it a bit difficult to spread, but later I learned to strategically place small dots of the product all around my face prior to gently patting them in.
Now let’s talk results, ladies. During my first application I felt a slight tingling sensation, and I could tell that my skin got little tighter, which is usually a good sign and an indication that the product is working. After approximately one month of daily use I noticed that my skin got a little brighter and the complexion more even, and one of three lines I identified as early stage future wrinkles was completely gone from my forehead. As for my laugh lines, they did seem to appear somewhat smoothed out, but not completely gone; however, I expected realistic results, and this is good enough for me after just one month.
THE VERDICT
Overall, I believe that Face Velvet Tuber Lotion works as advertised, and really reduces the appearance of fine lines while making the skin look firmer. This was not a promised result, but my complexion seems to be brighter and more even than before. Based on the texture I would say it’s suitable for most skin types, except very oily, since the consistency is a bit on the thicker side. I used Face Velvet Tuber Lotion for 5 weeks [sometimes twice a day, sometimes only once at night], and the tube is still half-full, so if like me you use one pump per application it should last about 2 months.

Boo, I have really oily skin! Its really hard for me to find products that don’y make me oilier!
Skin&Co just recently launched their new Truffle Therapy line, and the moisturizer would be perfect for oily skin – it’s super lightweight!
I am oily skinned here too, so I try to stay away from anything too heavy.
Good move! Heavy products and oily skin really don’t get along.
Yup, I’m oily too! BOO cuz this sounds like an awesome product!

The company recently launched Truffle Therapy line, and the moisturizer from that line would be perfect for oily skin. I’m not sure if there are any samples of that available, but you can always email them and inquire about trying the products 🙂
That pump is the perfect, thoughtful detail that shows they really want you to enjoy their product until it’s finished. Such a bummer when the end of a product is gross or dirty. How awesome that you’re seeing an improvement on the wrinkles that were bothering you!
You know, whatever it takes to stall the skin’s aging process is fair game with me 🙂 And I agree, the pump bottles are a nice touch.
Skin & Co is one of my FAVORITE brands! I have and love this lotion especially the scent!
Finally, someone who also loves the scent! Omg, they should seriously consider making a fragrance out of it, right?
I’ve never heard of them before but they sound great.
Glad you find the brand interesting 🙂 So far I have been very impressed with their products.
This is interesting. I am going to have to try it!
You are killing me with the awesome skin&Co posts! 😀
I have dry skin so I don’t think the oily thing would be a problem but I just love the look of this one.
Geez 30! I cried when I turned 30, time where art thou? LOL. Seriously, if you take good care of your skin way before problems appear, you will be 60 and still wrinkles-free! Having said that, this looks like a good product to try!
This looks luxe, and sounds wonderful!
What a fascinating brand – the products all look so luxe!
Love when products have a pimp, it’s so much more convenient!
