Goodness, it’s already the end of March and I just realized I still haven’t posted a review of this month’s Le Metier de Beaute Vault VIP box! I’ve been so preoccupied blogging about my latest obsession with Milani’s newest collection that I totally forgot about this one. Peau Vierge Correcteur Concealer in Light/Medium – closeup & arm swatch

Peau Vierge Correcteur Concealer in Light/Medium – I am surprised LMdB sent a complexion product, because at the beginning of this program they specifically mentioned they will never include them in the boxes. Light/Medium is a shade suitable for both light and medium complexions, however, it’s going to be too dark for fair-skinned girls if they plan to wear it as is. As you can see from my arm swatches, even when blended out it’s still too dark and too orange on me. However, that orange hue actually does a really good job masking my under eye circles, and it’s invisible on my skin as long as it’s not blended outside of the dark circle area, so those of you who have super fair skin like moi and received this same box, don’t be afraid to give it a try. Shade issues aside, the formula is actually quite impressive. It doesn’t settle into creases at all, and instead of accentuating wrinkles, it stretches together with your skin when you smile, squint, blink etc. I don’t think I’ve ever had results this good with any other concealer, and even my favorite from IT Cosmetics pales in comparison [but to be fair, it’s also 3x cheaper].

Ultra Hydration Eye Mask Duo – This mask is essentially an individually packed pair of clear eye patches. LMdB promises that these will instantly energize and brighten eyes while the seaweed base will provide cool, calming sensation and soothe the area. And you know what, these actually work! I don’t remember the last time the area under and around my eyes felt so comfortable and refreshed, I wish I had known about these back when I used to fly a lot, because traveling always obliterated my skin for a few days. These patches are quite large and cover the entire undereye area, your temples, and upper cheek bones. LMdB recommends using these for 15 minutes, but I kind of forgot I had them on so they might have been sitting on my face for a couple hours before I remembered. But seriously, this is a miracle product, and while I certainly can’t afford to use them daily, I will add them to my special occasion list of products.

THE VERDICT
I was extremely happy with my March LMdB box, and aside from the obvious concealer shade flop, both of these products far exceeded my expectations. Wouldn’t it be nice if LMdB made this concealer in Fair shade for us pasties?

Have you tried either of these products? What do you think about the March box?

I wanted this! I wish it was a tid bit cheaper though!

I know, it’s quite a big sum of money to pay all at once, however, I don’t regret this purchase at all.

$348 a year sounds kind of daunting but doing the math actually has it for only $29 a month which isn’t that bad for LMdB products! I do hope they’ll have more universal products as opposed to a complexion product which might not match everyone

I recall that LMdB said there wouldn’t be any complexion products in the boxes, which is why seeing the concealer is so baffling. It’s a wonderful product, but the shade is all wrong for me.

I am really trying to wrap my head around paying $95 for a concealer and if *any* product can actually be good enough to justify that cost. I mean, I’ve never used any of these super-high-end super-expensive lines, so I really have nothing to base my opinion on. I just keep coming up w/ the thought that there really is no way a product can be worth that much. Now, I do think that subscription box is great, and it is really the only one I’d sign up for at this point (having done a year each of Birchbox and Ipsy previously).

I just recently saw a concealer from La Prairie that retails for $200, no kidding!

I love sub boxes, but for the pricier ones, I have a hard time paying that much and not knowing what’s coming, especially if it’s a flop item that I can’t use.

Indeed, paying $348 and not knowing what you will get is a huge risk, glad it paid off.

I’ve not used any of this brand’s products, so the idea of spending the money on a sub box that just has their stuff in it is a little daunting. But, I’ve heard such great things about them, trying all their stuff, one month at a time, sounds kinda fun. Definitely a lux experience!

I think that was the whole point of this subscription for them – to introduce more people to the company.

Do they offer this for darker skin tones? This looks like an awesome product!

Honestly, I don’t think they do, the darkest shades are all medium/tan. That is something they should definitely work on.
