Last time I reviewed a Bestowed Box way back in September, so I think now is a good time to refresh our memory and see if anything has changed since then. To celebrate Earth Day, in the month of April all subscribers received a selection of healthy products from brands that are doing their best to stay eco-conscious.
HOW IT WORKS
Bestowed Box is a food type subscription that delivers delicious food, snacks, beverages and more to try for just $19/month + FREE shipping. All products have been carefully selected by celebrity nutritionist and author Heather Bauer and every box is loaded with insider tips, recipes, and more!

Little Duck Organics Tiny Fruits |
Little Duck Organics Tiny Fruits in Strawberry & Mango – This big package is actually very light, the whole thing weighs only 1oz! Inside, there is a mix of dehydrated non-GMO mangoes and strawberries with no added sugar or preservatives. This snack was delicious, and the texture reminded me of crispy marshmallows.
Luna Protein Bars |
Luna Bar Chocolate Coconut Almond & Lemon Vanilla – If I didn’t already know these were protein bars, I’d think these are candy bars. Luna bars are probably my favorite protein snacks, and unlike most others, they don’t taste like cardboard. I especially liked the Lemon Vanilla variety, it had a sharp citrusy flavor and coated in delicious yogurt glaze.
Nature’s Path Sunrise Cereal |
Nature’s Path Sunrise Cereal in Crunchy Vanilla – This gluten-free, low-fat mix smells and tastes like actual vanilla beans, which was a welcome change from my regular artificially flavored cereals. It wasn’t too sweet either, and really gave off a “healthy” vibe. I liked it, but not enough to purchase.
Good Health Glories Sweet Potato Chips |
Good Health Glories Sweet Potato Chips in Sea Salt – These sweet potato chips were very thin and delightfully crunchy, but didn’t have enough seasoning for my liking. I think they’d work really well with a dip, but I just ate them on their own, right from the bag.
Lucini Italia Premium Select EVOO |
Lucini Italia Premium Select EVOO – Honestly, I can’t really tell the difference between different types of high quality cold-pressed EVOOs, but I do know that this one tastes really good. So far I used it once to make a vinaigrette, and it turned out fantastic!
3B Bags Reusable Produce Bag |
3B Bags Reusable Produce Bag |
3B Bags Reusable Produce Bag – This washable mesh drawstring bag is meant to replace the plastic bags for produce at the grocery store. I received a reusable grocery tote in another subscription this month, and this bag will become its perfect companion.
Numi Tea Sipping Broth in Tomato & Mint |
Numi Tea Sipping Broth in Tomato & Mint – I actually already have a full box of these. I know, the idea probably sounds crazy, but this “tea” actually tastes like a broth, without the extra calories. Instead of sugar, I mix in some salt and parsley to kick it up a notch.
Torie & Howard Organic Hard Candy |
Torie & Howard Organic Hard Candy – You can find hard candy in all of my purses! It’s the smallest snack I could think of, and pretty discreet, too. After all, it’s not like I’m going to start chewing on a Luna bar during a lengthy wedding ceremony 🙂
Coupons for Shirataki Noodles and Back to the Roots Mushroom Kit |
[Coupons] House Foods Shirataki Noodle & Back to the Roots Mushroom Kit – My husband and I love good Asian food, especially Thai and Japanese, so this free bag of noodles will be a welcome addition to my shopping cart. The second coupon is a 50% discount to purchase Back to the Roots Mushroom Kit, which allows you to grow your own organic oyster mushrooms. Considering that each box can yield at least 2 harvests, according to my calculations, getting these kits with the discount is cheaper per oz than buying these mushrooms at the store [and who knows how long they’ve been sitting there!] I look forward to playing with my countertop mushroom farm 🙂
THE VERDICT
The April box was just as good as the one I sampled a few months ago, despite the lower retail value; it contained high quality products, that aren’t just good for you, but also for the planet. I appreciate that Bestowed encourages their subscribers to be healthy and eco-conscious by introducing us to the companies we might have not heard of otherwise.

This post made me hungry! I want to try all the cool, funky foods, too! 🙂 You are the sub box queen!
Hi Nidia — Haha, I wouldn’t go as far as calling myself a sub box queen, but I may or may not be addicted to monthly surprises 😀
I really like the produce bags. I think they help a lot. And that mushroom growing box is so cute. I need to get one 🙂
Hi Allison — I also like the idea of produce bags. I currently use reusable canvas totes, and I’m glad that I got this mesh bag to try. I may buy more in the future if I like it.
So the products in the box actually retail for less than the cost of the box…
Hi Laura — Yes, that often seems to be the case with food subscriptions, because food doesn’t get the same insane markup as skincare and makeup. However, the previous Bestowed box retailed for $34, so the value varies a lot from month to month.
Wow, they really pack it with products!
They sure do!
Everything looks so good!!
Glad you like the contents, Eugenia!

Yikes on the retail price on the box but this just made me hunt through the cupboard for healthy snacks!
Hi Chrissy — Unfortunately, most food subscriptions are like that, but I enjoy being introduced to healthy snacks I might not have picked up otherwise.
I like the idea of those product bags. But if the box costs $19 per month and the total value was only $16-something I don’t think it’s really worth it. I think with sample boxes it is important to try new things, but they still need to offer a value at the exact retail cost or more.
Hi Kimmi — I agree, the value is lower than the cost of the box, but that is often the case with food subscriptions. I guess I’m just used to it, because I subscribed to several of these regularly (Goodies, Graze, Love With Food).
What a great box!!
Glad you like it, Amber!
Chocolate Coconut Almond sounds good. The value being less than the cost sucks.
I know, right? That protein bar tasted like a normal candy bar, it was soooo good!
Luna Bars are sooooo good!
Hi Noelle! — I’m a huge fan of Luna bars, too. Aren’t they just the best protein bars in the history of ever? 🙂
The box sounds nice…. but not worth the money for this one.
Hi Destany — That’s perfectly understandable, unfortunately food subscriptions rarely offer good value for the money.
I love Luna Bars. It’s crazy there’s a box for everything these days
Hi Kim — They sure have a subscription for everything and everyone, you wouldn’t believe some of them exist.
Oh I’m hungry
Yum! These pictures make me hungry every time I look at them, too 🙂 And I JUST had dinner!
Very interesting box and filled with so delicious things …..
Hi Leelo — I’m glad you like the contents, I thought they were great, too 😉
GREAT box! I love Luna bars!
Hi Jess — Glad you like the box, I’m a HUGE fan of Luna bars, too.
I love that the focus on healthier options!
Hi Jessica — I also appreciate healthy snacks, they can be hard to find sometimes.
oh wow – I didnt realize it is valued less then the cost but i got this box this month too and i did like the variety !
Hi there!! — Most people don’t do price breakdowns for the products in their boxes, but I always did, because it offers some perspective. Do you still like the box, despite knowing that the retail value is lower than its cost? I personally do, but I know many probably didn’t.
SO YUM! It sounds nice but for the $$$ I’d expect it to value out higher.
Hi Brooke — Unfortunately, most food subscriptions don’t offer much in terms of retail value, but what i do like about this one is the carefully curated selection of healthy snacks, since the owner of Bestowed is a celebrity nutritionist.
I get the BuluBox and it is just like this. However, I get mine for $60 a year.
Hi Kimberly — I tried Bulu box before when they had a “first month free” promotion last year, and I guess I just wasn’t ready for so many supplements 🙂
this reminds me of Nature’s Box. Have you tried that one yet? I’m a fan 🙂
Hi Angela — I heard of it but never tried 🙂 I may give it a shot, thanks for the suggestion!
YUM! looks like an awesome box I hadn’t heard of it.
-Erica
Hi Erica! — I reviewed it for the first time a few months ago as a possible alternative for now defunct Goodies. I think this is a great snack subscription, and they focus mostly on healthy options.
I want to check out this box… it looks delicious.
Hi Honey — You can use the code above to test out this box for $10, I’m sure the value can’t go lower than that 🙂
Those sweet potato chips look yummy!!
Hmm it’s a bummer you came up short from what you paid but the snacks do look great!
So it’s $19/mo but the actual retail is $16? Anywhoo, the snacks look good from your photos.
It is quite a bummer that you came up short but the contents look delish!
The contents look yummy! Kind of sucks that the value is lopsided.
Those are some yummy snacks
I want everything in that box!
