Hair loss is a sensitive topic for some of us, but we still want to find solutions to our problem. Personally I have very thin hair to begin with, and every time I experienced even minor stress [who doesn’t in this day and age?], I would always find a bunch of strands on my brush afterward. That’s the reason I started using hair stimulating products. I use them seasonally, alternating with regular shampoos and conditioners, to help keep the hair loss down to a minimum.
Damoae Therapy Shampoo and Tonic |
I already wrote about another hair loss product before, and although I’m sort of embarrassed to talk about it, I still want to share the products I use, and whether they worked for me or now. This time I wanted to introduce you to Damoae Therapy Shampoo and Tonic. Unlike some Korean products, these two treatments are approved by both KFDA and FDA, which guarantees their safety.
On the back of the box – results of clinical trial |
And now some science! Damoae utilizes their own patented technology [they even listed the number of patent, in case anyone is curious enough to look it up: 10-0816848] and promises to make new hair grow thicker, improve scalp health and reduce hair loss, dandruff, and itching. Damoae Therapy products don’t contain chemical preservatives or surfactants, the ingredient list consists of mostly natural extracts and essential oils; the company even promises that the formula is so clean, it’s safe enough for use by pregnant women and children. In addition to its bacteria-killing properties, Damoae Therapy contains gamma-linolenic acid, hesperidin, and peurojeronin that stimulate the roots to produce thicker and healthier hair.
Damoae Therapy Shampoo |
I found these products to treat my scalp and hair almost like skincare. We all know that if the skin is oily, it doesn’t mean it’s moisturized. Damoae Therapy Shampoo cleanses the excess oil out, replacing it with moisture, so my scalp always felt clean and soft. In the past I always had to compromise and choose between clean and comfortable, because the shampoos I used were too harsh; that’s never been an issue since I switched to sulfate-free products.
Manufacture and expiration dates on Korean products should be read as YYYY.MM.DD |
The company recommends using the shampoo twice per use, massaging the product in for a couple minutes before rinsing it off [do we see a pattern here? the previous hair loss shampoo I reviewed had to be used in the same way], and the frequency should depend on your scalp condition: daily for oily scalp, every other day for normal and dry scalp. Note: having dandruff does not necessarily mean your scalp is dry, because there are many causes to those flakes. By the way, Damoae also recommends that you use this shampoo in the evening; I thought I’d mention that since most of us shower in the morning.
Damoae Therapy Tonic |
Damoae Therapy Tonic is kind of like a refreshing supplement to the Shampoo, and it’s highly recommended that they’re used together. It’s designed to enhance the properties of the shampoo, add moisture to the scalp, invigorate, energize and deliver vitamins to the roots to further promote healthy hair growth, while keeping the bacteria and dandruff at bay. The formula is non-greasy, so you can use it as many times as you want during the day without causing buildup or making the roots look dirty.

That was quite a lengthy introduction, wasn’t it? Now let’s talk results. I’ve been using this duo for three weeks and it definitely lived up to my expectations. From the very first wash I felt that my scalp was clean but not over-washed, if you know what I mean. The roots looked lifted, and I didn’t feel any dryness or itchiness. Gradually the amount of hair on my brush has decreased, and I think that’s because the roots are thicker now, so the strands are much harder to pull out. I use the tonic twice a day – in the morning before styling my hair, and in the evening before going to bed – I feel like it’s actually making some difference! Right after using it, my scalp feels “minty”, which is a very refreshing sensation. I will continue using these two products until they’re empty, because I’ve been impressed with the outcome, and because I’m curious to see long-term results.
THE VERDICT
DAMOAE Therapy Shampoo and Tonic worked really well to keep my scalp healthy, moisturized, and dandruff-free. I noticed that after three weeks I have less hair fallout, and the roots are now much thicker than before. I believe that this duo is a good solution for people like me: with thinning hair, dandruff, and occasional fallout due to stress or genetics.
