TSA-Approved Skincare Routine for a Week

TSA-Approved Skincare Routine for a Week

I always love seeing how other people pack for vacation, because I used to be a chronic overpacker myself. Of course, I knew that I won’t need nearly as much stuff as I think, but I still had to get over that mental barrier of “but what if..!” and learn to pack light. Now my clothes and all beauty products fit in one tiny carry-on bag. Since I bring fewer things, the whole packing process became a lot less stressful. Speaking of which, last week I went on a week-long multi city vacay and thought I’d share my skincare routine. I bet some of these products are unexpected!

1 // dermalogica Precleanse Oil ($47) – The product’s name speaks for itself. This oil melts makeup and loosens dirt and skin oils for an easier removal. It’s been a long-time staple in my routine and I always have this oil on hand, even when it’s not actively in rotation.

2 // Tatcha The Deep Cleanse* ($39) – Excellent second step foaming cleanser, helps thoroughly remove cleansing oil with all the melted makeup and daily gunk. It contains tiny exfoliating particles that might feel a bit abrasive, so I wouldn’t recommend it for people with sensitive skin. My husband really liked it, too, because you only need a tiny bean to get rich, fluffy lather (he loves bubbly cleansers!)

3 // Sulwhasoo Concentrated Ginseng Renewing Water ($100) – This toner makes my skin look plump and juicy and quenches it with moisture. I also have it in full size, and use it quite often, especially in the winter when my skin is drier. The consistency is like liquid jelly and feels more like a serum than a toner, so it definitely has more substance than its watery counterparts.

4 // Kiehls Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution ($85) – For this trip, I decided to skip harsh exfoliants and just used these drops instead. It’s a gentle Vitamin C serum that also contains small amounts of acne-fighting Salicylic Acid and antioxidant-rich plant extracts, so I figured it will have all my bases covered for a week. My face was happy so I guess it worked out well!

5 // First Aid Beauty Hydrating Eye Cream ($30) – FAB is known for their famous FAB Niacinamide eye cream, but if you just want the basics, this uncomplicated hydrating eye cream does exactly what it promises. This is a gentle, basic formula that keeps the skin hydrated and moisturized, and not much else. I really like it.

6 // Fresh Black Tea Firming Overnight Mask ($39) – I used to have a full-sized bottle of this but decided not to repurchase after I finished my last one. Kind of questioning that decision now, because this sample reminded me how much I enjoy this formula. This overnight mask has a rich, thick paste-like consistency that seems like it will suffocate your skin – except it doesn’t. I wake up with the softest cheeks and the most beautiful, healthy glow.

7 // Dear, Klairs All-day Airy Sunscreen SPF50+* ($17) – I tried this sunscreen when it was first released and it blew my socks off. The SPF50+ here is not just fort show, it’s actually super effective! This sunscreen shielded my skin like a champ when I had to spend a day in 105 degree heat in Fresno, CA this summer, without flaking off or turning into a greasy mess. This formula is seriously gorgeous, 10/10 would recommend.

And that’s it, these are my travel essentials! What do you think? Have you tried any of these products before?

Are you an overpacker or do you only bring the essentials? Share in the comments below! 🙂
