This Holiday Season Chanel N°5 is Available in Limited Edition Red Bottles
I can’t think of a more iconic fragrance than Chanel N°5, and this Holiday season for the first time ever it will be available in Limited Edition collectible red bottles at chanel.com. Even though the bottles look different, inside you will find exactly the same beautiful scents we’ve come to love: N°5 Eau de Parfum, Parfum and L’Eau are all available in red exclusively at CHANEL from now until November 1, 2018. Available online and at select boutiques from November 2, 2018 to December 31, 2018, while supplies last. The 900ml Parfum edition is particularly precious – it comes in specially made red Baccarat crystal bottles and only 55 will be made in total. Needless to say, these are perfect for Chanel collectors and No. 5 fans, as well as anyone who wants to buy a luxurious and festive gift for themselves or a loved one.
Chanel N°5 Eau de Parfum is a lighter, citrusier version of the original parfum created by Ernest Beaux for Coco Chanel in 1921. It’s powdery but also light and airy, and I especially love the warm woody drydown at the end of the day. Even after all these years, the mysterious bouquet of exotic florals, woods, spices, and signature aldehydes smells as fresh and modern as it did a century ago.

So, why red? Red was the favorite color of the late Gabrielle Chanel, who only wanted to dress women into black, white, beige, gold – and red. It’s “the colour of life, the colour of blood,” and it fits the brand’s minimal packaging aesthetic so seamlessly. The bottle is elegant and eye-catching, and will surely stand out on your vanity.
I grew up loving N°5. Both my Grandma and my Mom wore this fragrance for special occasions paired with beautiful dresses and an elegant string of pearls [that’s so Chanel!] and I always thought it was the most feminine and ladylike pairing. Many years later my opinion is still the same – there’s just nothing like a classic N°5. Even in its iterations such as Eau de Parfum and L’Eau it’s still as recognizable and seductive as the original Parfum. For me Chanel N°5 Eau de Parfum hits the sweet spot – not too spicy or too floral, and has enough depth and longevity to last on my skin, hair, and clothes until the end of the day.
