I’ve been pretty busy in the past couple of weeks, so I barely posted anything, but now that I have more free time I decided to participate in the currently ongoing 31 day nail art challenge. During this challenge the participants are supposed to do one mani every day in September following that day’s theme. I just started today, so I have a lot of catching up to do, but I want to eventually be on the same page with other participating bloggers π
So, without further ado, here’s my red manicure featuring Zoya Chyna and Zoya Dahlia pixie dusts, and Bondi New York I’m Vers as a base and top coat.
At first I wanted to just post these simple swatches of Zoya Chyna alone (a perfect ruby slippers red by the way!), but then again it’s supposed to be a challenge and there’s nothing challenging about a one color swatch.
So I decided to turn it into a Ruffian manicure by adding a few strokes of Zoya Dahlia on top, but in the end the mani turned out more charcoal than red.
… then I figured, why not make it a double Ruffian and add some more Chyna? That wasn’t the brightest decision, because after looking at these pictures I like the first version a lot more. Oh well…
To console myself I ruined the whole pixie dust thing by adding two thick coats of Bondi NY I’m Vers to make it look super glossy. I like that you can even see the reflection of the sky π
Well, what do you all think? Am I crazy or am I crazy for participating in this nail art challenge? I’ll be posting two or three manis every day until I’m caught up. Oh, and I promise that the future challenge posts won’t be nearly as picture heavy as this one.
Enjoy!
Love the paint..
Thank you!
Wow, love the color combo :O It’s gorgeous!!
Thanks!! Red and black always seemed to work so well together π
I wish I had the patience to do this π
It really doesn’t take much time at all π I think I spent more time editing the pictures than the actual mani.
The extra gloss and the glitter reminds me of those old school bumper cars at an an old school amusement park. I love it!
YES! And the red seats at those cliche oldschool family restaurants π
that red is amazing!! Amber http://alwaysblabbing.blogspot.com/
Thank you, I like it a lot, too π And I think it’s my husband’s favorite red polish from my entire collection.
