Glossybox USA Unboxing and Review: September 2013

It’s been 4 months since my last Glossybox, but I feel like I reviewed it just yesterday. Well, maybe not
literally yesterday, but it sure feels like it was pretty recent. I decided to redeem my glossydots and get this
month’s box after seeing the spoiler with full-sized Nioxin product. I tried a few of their products before and as far as I remember, they worked quite well for improving the volume and density of my hair. My September box actually arrived on October 2nd, but this delayed shipping is very typical for Glossybox US 🙂

Nioxin Diamax
Like I mentioned earlier, this product made me spend all of my hard-earned glossydots on the September box, because my flocks could really use some help. I tried a couple of sample-sized Nioxin products before, and they definitely improved the density of my hair. I’m pretty sure that I wasn’t just imagining that, because my friends and family all made comments about it. As you know, Nioxin is pretty expensive, and I didn’t think my hair’s condition is that severe that I would spend over $100 every month on hair products, so I just never purchased the full sizes. Can’t wait to start using it!

Emite Makeup Professional Eyelash Curler
Perfect timing, Glossybox! I had just thrown away my 10-year-old eyelash curler, and I keep forgetting to buy batteries for the heated one. This curler looks nice and sturdy, and comes with three extra silicone pads for replacement. I’m sure I will use this one a lot!

Oceane Makeup Remover Pen
I like the concept of this pen, but I usually carry around q-tips to clean up the smears and smudges. On one hand, it’s a useful tool which in theory should work well for smudged eyeliner, lipstick and mascara, on the other hand I think I’ll just go back to q-tips eventually.

Be a Bombshell Eyeliner Pen in Onyx
I already own this same eyeliner, so I’m probably not going to add another one to my collection. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a really nice eyeliner, but I just have so many of them I definitely won’t need to buy another one for 5 years! This is a very classic product, so I’m going to use it as a Christmas present this year. I have so many female relatives, I’ll definitely find a lucky lady to gift it to!

BCBGMAXAZRIA Bon Genre Eau de Parfum
This sophisticated fragrance is very similar to Thierry Mugler’s Angel, or at least my nose thought so when I test-spritzed it on my wrist this morning. Because of its strong bittersweet notes, I probably wouldn’t wear it during the daytime, but I’ll give it a shot when I have a fancy event to attend. I think it’s definitely a Fall/Winter kind of scent, and it would make a nice addition to a night out look. This sensual perfume features a blend of jasmine noir, tuberose, cardamom, and tiger-lily florals, layering warm amber, Australian sandalwood, patchouli, and black vanilla. This fragrance came out in September, so we got a brand new product to sample – isn’t that exciting? 🙂

THE VERDICT
I was very happy with my September box, because it featured some great products, and four out of five of them were full-sized. Although the shipment of my box was very delayed, I came to expect that from Glossybox, so I just focused on other things and accepted the fact that “it will come when it will come”. October box is going to be a collaboration with BYRDIE, a sister site of WhoWhatWear, and I’m definitely going to stay on board to get that box as well, because literally all of the collab boxes have been amazing.
