BzzAgent Review: Burt’s Bees Intense Hydration

In case someone doesn’t already know, BzzAgent often lets you try out new products and services for free in exchange for your honest review. This time they sent me a Burt’s Bees Intense Hydration skincare kit which included the following products: full-sized Cream Cleanser, full-sized Night Cream, full-sized Treatment Mask, and some samples of Day lotion and Night lotion to give away.

I decided to partially replace some of my skincare with the Burt’s Bees goodies for the time being and see how that works for my skin. It’s been about 2 weeks since the swap and I already have some results to tell you about.

First of all, as someone with combination skin I was a bit skeptical about using anything labeled “intense hydration”, but my skin is really weird in a way that at summer it’s normal with oily patches but in colder months it’s dry with oily patches. Burt’s Bees Intense Hydration products actually moisturize my skin without making it feel heavy or greasy, and I think this line will even be good for people with oily skin.

Intense Hydration Cream Cleanser
This non-lathering cream cleanser actually left my skin squeaky clean the same way a bar of soap would. It smells very fresh and clean, I never really knew what clary sage is nor what it smells like but it actually made me think about the picture of that flower and I imagined a whole field of them. And it really made me feel good knowing that those humble little flowers are helping my skin right now. Unlike most cream cleansers, a little goes a long way with this one – I needed a pea-sized drop to wash my entire face and neck and even that felt like too much sometimes. My face always feels very soft and fresh afterwards, so after 2 weeks of using it twice daily I can definitely say that this is the product I would recommend to anyone. I believe it will work well for any skin type, from the driest to the oiliest.

Intense Hydration Treatment Mask
This mask is very creamy and thick, you’re supposed to apply a generous layer and then take it off with a napkin 10 minutes later but my skin just absorbed the mask and I had nothing to wipe off! I guess it was really thirsty that day because the second time I used the mask didn’t disappear like that, which led me to believe that these products are really increasing my skin’s hydration. The mask smells exactly like the cleanser – fresh with some sweet notes, and my face felt extremely soft and moisturized every time I use it.

Intense Hydration Night Cream
My skin loved this night cream! I finally like the way I look in the morning because my face feels fresh and soft and even has some color to it, compared to the usual gray’ish tone and slight swelling. Again, they market this line for the dry skinned people but I truly believe these products can be used by everyone. This cream – and other products from the Intense Hydration line – doesn’t leave sticky residue and doesn’t make my skin feel oily. It simply makes my skin feel the way a healthy skin should feel: hydrated, radiant, supple and beautiful!

To wrap up my review I would like to add that I’m really glad I got selected for this campaign, because I honestly would have never tried any of those products. I think Burt’s Bees should change the labels from “Dry skin” to “All skin types”.

Ooo I’m so jealous! I only found out about BzzAgent after this campaign, so I missed it and I would have LOVED it. Definitely want to try out the cream cleanser when I’m done with my current face washes. How much does it retail for?

It’s 99% natural and retails for $10 🙂 if I wasn’t swimming in cleansers that I got from various subscriptions I would definitely purchase it.
