The first polish is called Tunic, which is best described as a warm semi-sheer peachy-shrimp pastel creme with high gloss finish. It was inspired by sheer tunics popular with fashionable ladies during the first couple years of this decade. It took me three coats to achieve fully opaque look, but I think this polish is meant to be worn as a sheer tint to give the nails that healthy look. For sheer polishes I prefer thicker brush, so it was a bit challenging to apply, but I actually like the color a lot.

The second polish is called Kewpies, and represents little bisque cupid figurines, which originally appeared as comic characters in Ladies’ Home Journal in the December 1909. In 1912 a German toy company J.D. Kestner decided to manufacture them as toys, and now they are known all around the world. This nail polish, inspired by Kewpies’ skin color, was also leaning a bit sheer, and I needed three coats for even coverage.

Third polish is called War Crinoline. 1915 was an important year for fashion, because ladies drastically changed their outfits. The hem lines became higher, the skirts narrower, and the collars wider; some dresses looked very gentlemanly! This nail polish color has slightly thicker consistency than the other two, and offers excellent pigmentation – it can be easily one-coated, but I used two coats just to be sure. I would describe the color as cool olive/khaki green with buttery smooth coverage and high gloss finish, and it’s my favorite shade in this collection.
