Asian beauty companies are known for housing their precious products in some seriously cute packaging, and while Japan is a clear leader here, Korea is a solid runner up; maybe that’s why all editions of My Cute Wishlist sold out really quickly, including this box #2. So far I picked up at least three of them and decided to stop there for now.

HOW IT WORKS
Memebox Global is not a typical subscription service. They periodically curate boxes filled with assorted beauty products popular among Koreans, and those Limited Edition bundles are sold on first come first serve basis. Evas Berry Mix Vitamin Cleansing Dessert – The cutest part about this cleanser paste is actually the outer box that looks like an adorable food truck. Also, I already received one of these in my Cacao box, and I actually use it daily. This stuff is seriously concentrated, I don’t even think I used half of it yet.

Memebox card says that it removes makeup, but I think that’s accurate, at least for me. To thoroughly remove all traces of makeup and mineral sunscreen I usually have to cleanse my face twice – once with oil, and then again with another cleanser, with right now happens to be this very same one but in Coconut flavor 🙂

SaintPeau Collagen Pudding Sleeping Pack – How does this belong in a Cute box? Personally, I think the packaging looks just normal, but I guess Memebox thought that happy piglet on the cap was adorable or something.

Even though I see nothing cute about this thing, the product itself is seriously amazing. This overnight skin treatment is infused with natural collagen which makes up more than half of the jar! It looks like jelly pudding, and one scoop of included mini-spatula is the perfect amount to cover the entire face. This formula melts into the skin when it warms up from body heat, and then I just lightly pat it in and go to bed. Best part – no stains on my pillows or sheets, and I wake up with really smooth skin! Seriously, this is one of the best products I received in a Memebox, and I would say it’s a must-try. If you have an opportunity to buy it or swap for it, do it!

Evas RoseMine Nana’s Lily Perfumed Hand Cream – Over the past couple of months I received quite a few products from this brand, and I guess I’m not yet at a point where I feel overloaded, so even if I get a few more in the future, I’d be okay with them.

This hand cream is just your basic shea butter hand cream, that supposedly smells very nice. I still didn’t use up my hand cream from Oriental Medicine box, so I didn’t remove the seal from this one yet, but I know I will probably like it based on my experience with other Evas products. Like everything else in the box so far, calling this cream cute is a stretch. This hand cream is available in Memeshop [currently on sale for $4].

Sally’s Box Friendly Berry Berry Lip Patch – Thanks to Memebox, I am now a big fan of lip masks, and this one did not disappoint. The packaging is almost excessive, but again, I didn’t think it was cute or anything, actually, on the lips, this patch looks super weird.

Each one of Sally’s Box lip masks is infused with berry extracts and Vitamin C, and applying them once or twice a week will help maintain plump and moisturized lips. This sounds like a great product for Fall/Winter, but my lips are pretty much chronically chapped, so I’d use these babies all year round 🙂

The YEON Style Y Fruity Swirl Lip Balm – Alright, Memebox, I give up… what is so cute about this one? Certainly not the swirl, right, because I find it pretty ordinary. There were three variations sent out – Strawberry Twist, Orange Twist, and I got the last one, Lime Twist. I’m actually glad I got it instead of the other two, because I’ve been on a citrusy kick lately.

My product card says that these lip balms contain jojoba oil that moisturizes without leaving a sticky layer, and while I agree that it’s not sticky, it still seems a bit greasy to me, with  almost lipgloss-like consistency. And some of you might know that I’m just not a fan of finger-dipping in general, so I don’t think I’ll use this lip balm all that much.

It’s Skin Romantic Rose Babyface Petit Blusher – Finally, a product that is actually cute! These cute blushes come in four shades and I got 03 Romantic Rose, which is a great color for my complexion. Each blush comes equipped with an adorable puff that makes the application easy, and its small size ensures that it won’t take too much space in my purse. I already started using it daily, and so far I really like it!

As you can see in the swatch above, Romantic Rose is a lovely rosy pink with very subtle silvery microshimmer. It’s surprisingly pigmented, albeit a tad powdery, but it applies evenly and blends well, without leaving sharp edges or streaks. Lasting power on me was just okay – about 6 hours before it started fading, so I needed a quick touchup around lunch time. This blush is abailable in Memeshop for $11, or as part of Beauty Splurge Special Collaboration Box, which is still available for sale.

THE VERDICT
I am totally baffled with this box… One one hand, I actually really liked all of these products, but on the other hand 5 out of 6 had no business being inside a Cute Box, so it’s like a mad/not mad situation. Oh, Memebox, you and your mind tricks again! Now after thinking about it, I’m actually more disappointed than not, mainly because I bought this box expecting “totes adorbs” stuff, and only the blush had the cute factor I had hoped for. Cute Box #1 was great, and it’s too bad that this second edition is so lackluster. I have one more Cute box coming to me within the next 2-3 weeks [it got shipped yesterday by snail mail], and this would be my last one for now.
