“The grass is always greener”, they say, and in my case it’s totally true. My hair is naturally wavy, but I love to wear is straight, so I’m always looking for products to help it stay that way. Earlier this month I had an opportunity to try Aveda Smooth Infusion system, that promises to defend against frizz, loosen curl and help lock in straightness, which is exactly what I want from my haircare.
The first two steps are very simple – I washed my hair with two pumps of Smooth Infusion Shampoo and applied Smooth Infusion Conditioner for a few minutes, giving extra love to the ends that tend to be a bit dry. After towel drying the hair, I spread a few pumps of Smooth Infusion Style-Prep Smoother throughout the full length of my hair, which made the blow-drying process go faster and smoother [no pun intended!]. Now, the product that really impressed me was Smooth Infusion Naturally Straight cream. So far I used it together and without other products from this line, and it worked amazingly well each time.
Naturally Straight is probably best described as a styling cream. I apply it right before I blow dry or flat iron my hair, and that keeps it straight and frizz-free for several days. In my best salesman voice – “But wait, there’s more!” You know what made me really fall in love with this treatment? The more I used it, the longer my hair stayed straight, even on those days when I didn’t blow dry it at all. I don’t think I ever tried a product that works this well, so I’ve been raving about it to my family [I bet they’re sick of hearing about it by now]. If you pick up Naturally Straight, keep in mind that you must blow dry or use flat iron for it to work, it won’t do anything if you just apply it and let your hair air dry [been there done that].
