What’s In My July 2014 Bestowed Box + $5 Off Discount Code

I almost never shop for snacks when I’m out buying groceries, because I pretty much have no self-control and always end up buying a ton of junk every time I wander in that aisle. But life would be totally boring if there was nothing to snack on from time to time, so I rely on healthy snack subscriptions to deliver treats right to my doorstep. One of such services is Bestowed Box, and in July there was no special theme. Instead, Heather Bauer curated a well-rounded selection of snacks that will enhance out Summertime experience, no matter what we’re doing. Whether it’s beach parties, family BBQ cookouts, or post-gym snacks – July Bestowed Box has something for everyone.

P.S.: Even though I mark Bestowed reviews as PR Samples, I actually don’t get them for free. Bloggers get a special discount (about 65% off), but I thought that marking it as a sample is more appropriate than saying that I bought it.

Energy Fruits Mango With Pineapple & Pear – You know that I usually don’t buy snacks, right? Well, that totally excludes the baby food section, because I purchased puree fruit and berry pouches quite often. I just love that they’re fresh and mess-free, so I can always have a healthy and satisfying snack on the go. I received the mango-apple-pear variety, and will snack on it one of these days. These sugar-free pouches make a great post-workout treat!

Kelapo Extra Virgin Coconut Oil – I actually already use Kelapo, and I really like the quality of their coconut oil. This little pouch was leaking a little bit, it must have blown up during shipping, but fortunately it didn’t ruin the contents of the box. Coconut oil can be used for so many different things, from skin care to cooking, and it’s really healthy, too! It’s surprisingly good in smoothies 🙂

Saffron Road Crunchy Chickpeas – Yum! I like the sound of these chickpeas, and the wasabi coating sure adds some delicious spice to their nutty flavor. Chickpeas are a great source of protein without any extra fat or calories, so they make a great snack for anyone trying to shed a few pounds. I love having these as they are, or sprinkling them over my salads for an extra kick.

Zevia Ginger Ale – Ginger ale is not everyone’s favorite drink, but I actually like it. Zevia ginger ale is made with natural ingredients [real ginger and citrus oils], and has no sugar or calories. Bestowed says that it can be used as a healthy base for party drinks, but I just love drinking it as it is. Carbonated drinks also help painkillers to start working faster, so I always have a small stash for migraines.

Zing Bar Double Nut Brownie – I haven’t tried this bar yet, but I really like the sound of it. I carry protein bars and hard candy in my purse to combat sudden snack attacks, and it really helps me resist overeating. I bet this bar would make a really nice treat while traveling.

Free 1 Month Membership at Yogadownload.com – I actually still use MoveMeFit code from May Bestowed box, and I really love their customized routines, so I will wait to use this one until after that memberhsip trial expires. Yoga is one of my favorite things to do when I work out, so I look forward to checking it out.

Runa Guayusa Cinnamon-Lemongrass Tea – I actually buy this same tea in 1lb bags from Amazon, and it’s one of my favorite things to drink. Guayusa has more antioxidants than green tea and energizes just as well as a cup of coffee.

Aquatowel The Premium Personal Towel – These individually wrapped disposable personal towels are great for lunch on-the-go, traveling, camping and hiking. I will keep mine in the picnic basket 🙂
