Empties: June 2014

Empties time! In the month of June I actually managed to finish several full-sized products, which is a huge achievement for many of us, isn’t it? Let’s see what I thought about all these jars and bottles hitting the trash today.

Pure Natural Diva Whipped Body Butter – Finally used up this fantastic body butter! What can I say, my skin really loved the marshmallow-to-milk texture and the divine natural fragrance, but I have a bunch of body products lined up to use so I won’t be purchasing a new jar anytime soon.

Londontown Kur Nail Hardener – This was my go-to base coat, but eventually it dried out and now I’m tossing it. I will be re-purchasing more, because I feel like it actually cares for my nails and makes my polishes adhere better, which prolongs wear.

Skin&Co Truffle Velvet Serum – This lightweight serum smells absolutely divine, like the rest of Skin&Co products. I enjoyed using it, and actually had my hubs finish it up after I was done with the testing. He seemed to like it, too!

L’Occitane Immortelle Very Precious Regenerating Concentrate – The end of an era for me. This serum was my first “grown up” beauty product, and I held on to this bottle for several years for sentimental reasons before finally deciding to toss it [the top of the dropper cap completely fell off, revealing the white ribbed base]. I loved everything about this dry serum-oil: the fragrance, the application, the way it made my skin feel in the morning. Since then it’s been reformulated, and then disappeared from the lineup completely.

Eco Armour Shave With Benefits Pomegranate & Mango – I received this travel-sized sample as a GWP a long time ago and just never really got into it. The foam is not helping the razor much, and the fragrance does not remind me of mango or pomegranate, in fact it’s even a little unpleasant.

Shea Terra Organics Rose Hips Black Soap Cleanser – Possibly my favorite cleanser for keeping acne at bay. I love everything with African black soap in it as an ingredient, and Shea Terra was the first brand that introduced me to it. There are other brands that offer similar products, but I always choose Shea Terra because of brand loyalty. I know it’s a stupid thing to do when you can get the same thing for less, but I really enjoy supporting them 🙂

Mamonde First Energy Serum – I received this sample in a Memebox, and it was one of the best products they sent. Both hubs and I used it, and we liked that it made our skin feel comfortable and soft. This is another product I would probably re-purchase if I didn’t already have a bunch of others to use up in the same category.

Hairich Vedacell Hair Program Shampoo – This sulfate-free and silicone-free shampoo was a nice treat for my hair, but I doubt I would buy a full-sized bottle. I wasn’t a fan of its medicinal fragrance, and I tried shampoos that worked better for me.

Eva NYC Therapy Session Hair Mask – I received this sample in one of my recent Ipsy bags, and fell in love with it after the first use. It detangled my hair really well and made it look less frizzy, which is exactly what I need during humid Summer months. I’ll be on the lookout for sales on this one for sure,

What products did you hit pan on this month?
