LUSH Mother’s Day 2014 Mumkin, Rose, Secret Garden Review: Mom or Not You’re Going To Love These!

purchased

LUSH Mother’s Day collection is finally here! There are lots of fun treats to try, but since I have a strict beauty budget I had to narrow down my purchase to three items. Based on the description, I chose Mumkin bubble bath, Rose bubble bath, and Secret Garden bath bomb to try.

“It’s Mum’s turn for a time out! Being a Mum is a hard work, and sometimes the best gift we can give is a break from all those motherly responsibilities. This Mother’s Day, we’ve created eight exclusive limited edition inventions and six luxurious gifts, all designed especially to give Mum a relaxing time out. Handmade with pure essential oils, softening butters and intoxicating fragrances, they’re sure to help Mum drift away from reality, if only for a short while!”

Mumkin bubble bath was the first one to catch my attention, and I probably would end up buying it even if I didn’t read the description. Wouldn’t you agree that this little bar is absolutely adorable? Each Mumkin smells like lemony raspberries. After taking a bath, my skin really smelled like raspberries, and felt soft and moisturized. Best part? The cleanup was so easy, I just needed to rinse the sides of the tub with some water and that’s it!

Rose bubble bar was my close second choice, after all I really like rose fragrance [but everyone else in my household thinks it’s for old ladies 🙁 What do they know, am I right?]. This bubble bar is small but powerful – one bar is enough for two baths, however, I really wanted to indulge and used it all in one go. As a result, my bath was full of fluffy glittery bubbles, and I had the most relaxing experience. The bar has some cocoa butter mixed in to prevent the skin from drying out. To be honest, I sat in the tub until I turned into a prune, but I was a happy prune 🙂 The cleanup is quick and easy, and the glitter actually doesn’t stick to the tub as much as I thought it would.

Secret Garden bath bomb almost looks like a kid’s toy, but it’s actually loaded with rose and orange oils, and holds a surprise in its core. What’s the surprise, you ask? A handful of dried flowers, to make the bathtime look like fancy-schmancy SPA ritual! [how fun is that?] Unlike my experience with previous two bath bars, this one didn’t seem to soften my skin at all, but I still had a great time, thanks to its uplifting aroma and that bunch of flowers. The cleanup wasn’t too bad, since most of the flowers ended up right by the drain, so I easily scooped them out.

THE VERDICT
Out of these three, I would probably purchase Mumkin and Rose again, if LUSH brings them back next year. Not too sure about Secret Garden, because I liked it, but not loved; although I have tom admit, those dried flowers were super fun.
