Empties: January 2014

January has ended, which means it’s time to show you my monthly empties! I think I did pretty well, considering how hard it is for a beauty fanatic to finish products. Without further ado, here they are!

Golden Earth Aromatherapy Body Wash – Neroli is not my favorite fragrance, but it somehow worked in this body wash. The scent is floral and slightly spicy, and I like that it doesn’t linger on the skin. I probably wouldn’t purchase a full size, or at least not in this scent.

Juara Avocado Banana Moisture Mask – Received this sample a long time ago in Yuzen box, and only now finally finished the jar. I personally didn’t care for it, because it didn’t seem to do anything for my skin: it felt the same way before and after. Juara products are always hit and miss for me, and this one was a miss.

Philip B. Classic Formula Lightweight Conditioning Cream Rinse – This after-shampoo hair treatment did nothing for my fine hair, so I don’t think I’ll be purchasing the full size.

Snowberry Smoothing Eye Serum – This is a very generous sample size, and the product worked surprisingly well for reducing morning eye puffiness and fine lines. It’s currently outside of my price range, but I’ll be stalking special promotions and flash sale sites in hopes of getting my hands on a full-sized bottle.

Victoria’s Secret Mango Temptation Body Wash – Fabulous fragrance! I love mango-scented anything, and I will be back for more of this bubbly goodness. I wouldn’t call it a staple, but whenever I get a VS gift card, I use it on mango body wash. No kidding 🙂

L’Occitane Aromachologie Repairing Shampoo – Love this shampoo, it was my gateway into the world of fancy hair care and to this date it’s still one of my favorites after I’ve tried and tested over a hundred different products. It makes my hair look very healthy, and I don’t even need to use a conditioner.

Alvera Almond Aloe Deodorant – This is my staple product that I use almost every day, because I didn’t find anything better. I’m still searching for my perfect healthy deodorant, so even though I’m sitting on a box full of these, I keep trying different brands and doing my research online. I’ll be reviewing several healthy deodorants in the near future, so stay tuned!

c. Booth Nourishing Dry oil Mist – Great body moisturizer, and quite inexpensive! It makes my skin feel soft and doesn’t leave it super greasy like most other body oils. Will be re-purchasing.

CellCeuticals Extreme Defense Anti-Cell Damage Skin Treatment – Felt nice on the skin, but I wasn’t really wowed. It’s a good non-sticky moisturizer that absorbs well, but not a must-have for me.

Erno Lazslo Light Controlling Lotion – That was a pretty good toner, and I’m quite picky about those. It made my skin feel fresh and matte, but not too tight, while controling the oil roduction. If I have spare cash I might splurge on this one.

Murad Hybrids Skin Perfecting Primer Matte Finish – That bottle is still 3/4 full, and I’m basically throwing it away, because I can’t use it. The color is too dark for my complexion, and I don’t like how it makes my skin look ashy.

Redken Clean Brew Shampoo – This line is targeted for men, but I liked it as a clarifying treatment once in a while. It makes my hair look fuller and stronger, and gives me a lot of volume. I won’t be purchasing the full size mainly because I like using sample-sized clarifying shampoos, but if you don’t care about sulfates – this is a good one to check out!

Be a Bombshell Onyx Eyeliner – Unfortunately, this eyeliner irritated my eyes, so I have to toss it. I literally used it once or twice. What a waste! 🙁

Starlooks Precision Eye Liner Pen – I liked this eye liner, it reminds me of Le Metier de Beaute, which costs twice as much. I used this one up and will probably buy more, if I need it. Right now I have several eyeliners I’m testing, so that purchase won’t be happening anytime soon.

Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes – These makeup removing wipes work quite well, but they still sting my skin a little bit. I’m not sure why, but I experienced that reaction with almost all of the wet wipes I’ve tried so far, so there has to be some common ingredient causing the stinging. Overall, this product works well, but I’m going to keep searching for my HG facial wipes.
