POPSUGAR Must Have Box Review: February 2013

It’s February, the month of love, which means most of the subscription boxes will be themed around Valentine’s Day. I’m fashionably late to the party due to my vacation but I’m trying to catch up on everything right now.

I received two February boxes – not by mistake, I actually did buy two of them – and one of the big ticket items didn’t fit me right which is something I was really upset about. I had to write an email to the Customer Service and we’ll see what they tell me. But for now, here’s my February box review!

Brokedown Clothing Spa Wrap in White
I’m a shortie so this wrap was actually just right for me. Maybe a bit too short for my liking, but it’s definitely not ultra-revealing or anything. I wouldn’t wear it around other people but it’s a nice cover-up after just getting out of the shower. The fabric is super soft too and it feels so nice on the skin, but I really don’t understand why it retails for $84.

Hanky Panky Rolled Signature Lace Original Rise Thong
The panties were supposed to be a one-size-fits-most product with the range of 4-14. I’m size 4 to 6 on the bottom and they looked HUGE on me, almost like I’m wearing a diaper 🙁 I usually don’t do things like that but after thinking about it I decided to write a letter to POPSUGAR explaining my situation, especially since I bought two February boxes so it’s kind of a big deal for me. The quality seems great and they look really comfortable so I’m hoping PS can send me a replacement. I’ll let you know what they say.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Honey and Romantic
So as you know, I got two boxes which means I got two lip stains. Luckily, they were different colors and I got them in Honey which is a nice nude pink and Romantic which is a deep raspberry. Both colors look very nice on my lips and my only problem with them is that they’re the greasy stain type and not the dry stain, meaning they transfer really bad after even the slightest touch.

Connoisseurs Quick Jewelry Cleansing Gel
I haven’t used it yet since I just got my jewelry cleaned last week, but I plan to give it a try sometime in the future and also share my spare with my mom who has a lot of gold and diamond jewelry. The reviews are great so I’m sure my little treasures will like it too!

Safe Haven Book
I’m not much of a reader so this book didn’t add a lot of value to the box for me, but both of them will be given away to my bookworm girlfriends. That’s a great thing about POPSUGAR, anything you don’t like could be easily re-gifted!

MarieBelle Tresor Box Chocolate
These are some tasty little nibs! I’m a huge fan of dark chocolate so I was delighted to receive these in my boxes this month. They taste like classic dark chocolate and their size allows you to make very precise portions if you’re on a diet.

Sweethearts Conversation Hearts
Never tried these. Seriously serious! So this is what these legendary conversation hearts are like hmmm… This seemed like a cute bonus item just to add a little something clearly V-day themed to the box and I appreciate that. The candy didn’t taste like much but it was just so cute!

• The best: Revlon Just Bitten Balm Stains, I loved the formula and the colors and both will be used a lot.
• The worst: Just from my personal fiasco, the Hanky Panky thong that was too big for me. Not their fault of course but I had a bad experience because of that.

The verdict: I was honestly impressed with this month’s selection, the curators did a really good job. Unfortunately all of the one-size items were a big miss with many people out there and hopefully POPSUGAR learns their lesson and at least asks people’s sizes before sending out products like that again.
