Cosmetics 27 by M.E. SkinLab Baume 27 Bio-Energizing Cell Repair Balm Review

I have received this skin balm as a prize many months ago and was never quite sure what to do with it. I wanted to sell it since it’s fairly expensive but at the same time the reviews were so positive that I figured I might as well keep it and use it when the time comes.

Well, this winter the time finally came. For the first time in my life my face became dry, out of nowhere I had flakey and irritated skin that would not accept my usual moisturizer and reacted poorly to all of my attempts to soothe it. Even the pure oily products were not rich enough, and an hour or two after the initial application my skin always returned back to that dry and irritated state. I didn’t want to resort to petroleum jelly, and that’s when I remembered about my secret stash.

Cosmetics 27 was created by Michele Evrard, a pharmacist who has worked for more than 18 years in the cosmetic industry. For many years she dreamed of developing a skincare product for dry and sensitive skin with visible signs of aging that didn’t already exist on the market. After years of research she came up with this remarkable formula featuring a mixture of Asiaticoside, Madecassoside and Asiatic Acid which provide fantastic repair, regeneration and anti-radical properties.

Like most fancy creams, the box comes with a tiny plastic spatula for scooping out the product. This balm can be used as an AM or PM moisturizer, or as a massage treatment. Like the description says, the formula was very thick but not greasy, and absorbed into my skin fairly quickly while calming down the irritation and providing much needed moisture. I also felt that my face is quite a bit firmer than it used to be. At the time of this review I have been using this balm for about two weeks and the results are great. I stopped using it for just two days and my skin immediately reverted to being red and dry, so thankfully I still have a lot of it left to last me until the end of the season.

The verdict: I highly recommend it to anyone with dry and sensitive skin, like mine has become recently. This balm is not cheap but it was the only moisturizer that managed to help calm down my skin, so if you have some disposable income I can almost guarantee you won’t be disappointed in this purchase. If I had to give it a rating, I’d sayit deserves 5 out of 5 stars.
