Glossybox Review: December 2012

Glossybox usually sets a theme for their monthly boxes, and the December theme is “Glamour, Glitz & Gloss”.

About Glossybox:
Glossybox is one of the most popular international beauty subscription boxes, and now it finally came to the US. Each month Glossybox subscribers receive up to six deluxe-size to full size products from crème de la crème of international brands. At $21/month this is one of the most expensive monthly boxes, but the value of your box will always be above. Click here to join Glossybox.

I didn’t think I’d come back to Glossybox but I subscribed just for the month of December after using two amazing promotions. After all the coupons and promo codes I managed to get two boxes for only $17 total. I was hoping to receive a variety but unfortunately that didn’t happen and the only difference was in the jewelry piece: one box had hoop earrings, another one had a necklace. I was happy to get two mark lipsticks because that color is really pretty and I used one as a gift for my mother-in-law.

Pleats Please by Issey Miyake
I didn’t care for the scent and couldn’t think of anyone I know that would like it. It’s not an unpleasant fragrance, but it’s very potent to the point of giving someone a headache. One spray from that tiny sample vial filled the entire room with fragrance.

Heartland Fragrance Co. Epsom Bath Salts in White Tea
I enjoy taking baths and use bath salts often, I feel like they’re very relaxing and good for the skin. I like the fragrance of this particular sample but it smells a bit unnatural to me. I’m still planning on using it but I will dissolve a smaller amount than I normally would.

Forest Essentials Luxurious Ayurveda Moisture Replenishing Bath & Shower Oil in Madurai Jasmine & Mogra
I love using shower oils in the colder months. Currently my favorite is L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil but I was intrigued to see how this one would compare. I thought it’s nothing special, it’s definitely not nearly as moisturizing as my current shower oil but I’ll still use it for the wonderful jasmine fragrance.

Mark. Lipclock Luxe Lipstick
Sure, Mark is not exactly luxury but it was still my favorite product in December box. The shade is beautiful and very flattering and I could give away one as a gift to my mother-in-law who loves these kinds of colors too. And I like the clicking sound it makes when you close it.

Zoya Nail Polish in Ziv from Ornate Collection Winter-2012
Both of the polishes came in Ziv shade so I will be re-gifting one to someone. While I don’t exactly wear gold on any occasion I will still give it a try.

[Bonus] Jewelmint Jewelry Piece  The earrings I don’t care for, they’re not my style at all, but I’m excited about the necklace. It can be worn long or short depending on how you decide to clip it. The quality is pretty good but I still wouldn’t pay $30 per piece for either of these.

[Bonus] Wella Velvet Amplifier
I’ll happily try anything that promises to tame my frizzies! I haven’t opened it yet but since I already love most Wella products I have high hopes for this serum.
